The Daughters of Charity Community Services (DoCCS), located at 9
Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, is a community-based organisation
providing a range of educational, training and social care services
for children, young people and adults living in Dublin?s North Inner
City. Our services are targeted to individuals and families
experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage.

The details of these roles are set out below and include details of

1. FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER WITH PROGRESSION TO LEAD OF CENTRAL SUPPORT
TEAM

The Family Support Worker will work closely with, and work towards
being team lead of the central support team (counsellor and community
outreach worker) to provide flexible, responsive, wrap-around supports
to individuals and families, to enhance their participation in, and
outcomes from, our core service areas (Early Years, Community Training
Centre; Adult and Community Education Service; and our Older
People?s Service).

THE ROLE:

CONTRACT: This is a full time permanent contract, following completion
of a successful probation period.
HOURS OF WORK: The successful candidate will work **Apply on the
website** hours per week. The hours of work are as follows, Monday to
Thursday 9am ? 5pm, Friday 9am ? 1pm.
ANNUAL LEAVE: The annual leave for the position is **Apply on the
website** days, with an additional 2 service days at times set by the
organisation.

Salary will be based on experience.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

* A passion, commitment and empathy for working with individuals and
families experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage, and
social exclusion,
* A track record of working on own initiative to develop and deliver
supports and programs to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and
families,
* A track record of supporting individuals to identify their needs
and create approaches to enable positive change,
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills,
* A good understanding, and analysis of, inequality, disadvantage
and social exclusion,
* An ability to take a flexible and adaptive approach to his/her
work, to ensure best outcomes for people accessing our services,
* Experience of working with external agencies and professionals to
ensure best outcomes for service participants,
* To undertake a needs analysis and to develop programmes and
supports in response to the arising needs which would be underpinned
by the community development principles,
* Excellent leadership skills, sound judgement, self-motivation and
strong interpersonal skills,
* Experience leading a service or support and supervision of staff,
* Proven track record of developing policies and training staff in
implementation.
* Experience in budgeting, grant applications and report writing,
* Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and
maintain a professional and collaborative approach within a team
context.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* A third level qualification in an appropriate discipline,
* A proven track record (candidates must have a minimum of three
years experience) working in a community-based setting with people
experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation.
* Strong administrative skills with experience in report writing,
completing funder application and making business cases. The person
should have strong skills in the use of excel and word and good
general IT skills.

2. FLOWER ARRANGING TUTOR

THE ROLE:

CONTRACT: This is a short contract for 6 to 8 weeks. Further contracts
may be offered.
HOURS OF WORK: 2 hours per week
ANNUAL LEAVE: 8% of hours worked

Have the ability to demonstrate a variety of floral arrangements,

* Develop the skills of the group in floral arrangement,
* Communicate well with the group,
* Communicate with the manager of the Community Education Centre
around any issues arising,
* Ensure the work is learner centred and all learners are
facilitated to participate,
* Increase confidence and ability of the group to participate in a
group learning environment.
